Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day will be recognized in Palm Beach County on Friday, February 1, 2019.
The day is relevant to several common academic goals, since it offers “real world” applications to school studies, furthers partnerships between schools and the business community, encourages gender equity, and enhances mentoring programs.
This event encourages young people to stay in school, seek post-secondary education, and pursue a greater variety of careers, all of which aligns with the District’s Strategic Plan.
National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is on April 25, but due to the conflict with the Florida Standards Assessment (FSA), Palm Beach County must honor the event before the testing window.
Students who wish to participate by joining their parent or another adult at work, should submit a note to their school before February 1. Students will receive an excused absence for the day.
