‘Tis the Season, Donate to School Food Service

Donate to School Food ServiceThe holiday season stirs up thoughts of gift-giving and donations. In that spirit, the District’s School Food Service Department (SFS) is accepting donations to help cover outstanding school lunch balances.

“So many families struggle to make ends meet, and some of these students may not be eligible for federal assistance,” said Allison Monbleau, the Director of School Food Service. “The generosity of others donating to pay off lunch balances may be the extra added help these families need.”

A member of the SFS department will contact you about the distribution of your donation to a particular school, group, or free and reduced status, if you choose to specify. Donor checks are made payable to School Food Service and mailed to their office at 3661 Interstate Park Road N., Suite 100, Riviera Beach, FL 33404.

As a thank you for making a donation, the SFS department provides the donor with a letter and a certificate of appreciation. If the donation is more than $1,000 the donor will receive a letter from the Superintendent. Donations of $10,000 or more are eligible to receive recognition by the School Board. For questions about donating to the SFS program, call Lori Dornbusch – School Food Service Manager, at 561-383-2035.
